[s]event[/s]

500 SEK (~52€) was at stake, and in the tournament some of Sweden's finest took part, spiced with the Norwegian iG.Mireille. In the end, Mireille lost against the strong Protoss Sweden B player ash.Fox, who took home the cash and the title as the Gamingeye Ladder Season 8 champion.

GosuGamers reported a couple of days ago about the » Gamingeye Ladder playoff where 16 players were qualified for a Double Elimination tour. We also went through the most expected players to win this; Sweden TreK[pG], Sweden rS.DaZe and Norway iG.Mireille. The latter reached the Grand Final, where he was faced against Sweden ash.Fox in a nailbiter match where the Swede in the end won 3-2.

He then forced his way through the Loser Bracket until he finally reached the Grand Final where the DreamHack Summer 2005 champion Norway iG.Mireille was waiting. With a 1-0 lead for Mireille, Fox could still take home the win, and thereby won 500 SEK (~52€).

"Everybody I played was easy except Mireille"

In an interview afterwards, where Fox explains how happy he is by wining, especially because of the prize money, he also says that it was an easy tournament. "Everybody I played was easy except for Mireille", he said, but then changes his mind and says that Sweden Chaso was also pretty tough.

GosuGamers wishes the StarCraft Gamingeye section the best of luck with their new section, and as the only Swedish-based ladder will flourish as it did once before.
