Starforge 2.2

A recent update in an old but very useful map editor called Starforge has recently been released by its author United States MM-Heimdal. Let me quote Starcraft.org’s description of the program.StarForge is a map editor built from scratch. Now in its second version, it can do many interesting things, including placing square terrain, protecting maps, placing half-built buildings, and units for the hyper players (players 9-255) with interesting effects such as doubling the fire rate. StarForge plans to be just as powerful as hex-editing the map yourself, without the need to be a Neo. Keep in mind that this is an advanced editor. It's not recommended for newbies. The creator of this program has uploaded the program at Staredit.net, the best UMS map making site, and has posted the following information about his new version Starforge 2.2. He also makes a point to highlight and bold the fact that if you happen to have an old version of Starforge you need to un-install it before you intall the new version or your new version will not work correctly.

Let me quote the author of the program.Sorry I've been sitting on this for so long. This will probably be the last release of this program before I start work on recoding it (if I do). Unless, of course, there are some critical bugs that are easy to fix. IMPORTANT: Uninstall any previous version of StarForge you currently have before installing this. You may download the program in our download section, specifically in the utilities section. Alternatively you can find the program at the following sites.

» Starcraft.org
» staredit.net

You will also need two more tools to run Starforge (and many other programs that run on VB6.0), » Common Controls DLL, Common Controls DLL ver 5.80.2614.3600 and » vbrun60sp5.exe. If you do not have them you can download them at Microsoft's site by clicking on the above links.
Feedback, suggestions, and bug reports should be sent to [email protected] or via AIM to StarforgeFB
