NiP and Alliance reign in DreamLeague Season 12 groups

The group stage has come to an end at DreamLeague Season 12 and NiP and Alliance are both undefeated.

As expected, Europe continues its dominance heading into the new season. The two Swedish organizations — Alliance and NiP were at the head of the class. Both teams went through the group stage undefeated to take the top seed for each group, placing them in the upper brackets. This now means they will be pitted against each other for the first spot in the Grand Finals.

Alliance was expected to be the team to keep an eye on. Their aggressive playstyle and on-point game sense is a telltale sign of their top placement potential. Team Liquid, however, was overshadowed by NiP. The squad led by Peter "ppd" Dager didn't have the best showing in the first set of DPC 2019-2020 qualifiers, but in the last two weeks, this team has really connected and is rapidly improving.

Demon Slayers was the clear underdog going into the event and there were no surprises that up against two European squads they would end up struggling. They did put up the good fight, but in the end it didn't translate to a single win for the boys.

FlytoMoon was the dark horse of the event. They failed to get through the open qualifiers for the DPC events but their lineup is stacked with raw talent and experience. As seen multiple times through the history of Dota 2, that doesn't always provide results. The team was unable to pick up a single win and were run over in all four of their games.

The playoffs begin next with three teams facing elimination in a single day and one team earning the first spot in the grand finals. The upper bracket series is expected to be some intense games, be sure to check that out starting around 19:30 CEST, depending on how early or late the lower bracket games run.
