DreamHack Atlanta 2017 - Binary Dragons and Misfits secure final placements

The teams fought through their respective region's qualifier rounds to make it to the final eight battling it out for a cut of the $100,000 prize pool.

Up-and-coming European team Serbia Binary Dragons and North American rising star United States Misfits have qualified for DreamHack Atlanta, where the two teams will join six others in the fight for $100,000 and the title of Champion.

Binary Dragons went 6-1 in their qualifier, taking out Russia Spartak Esports in the finals to advance to the big stage. Misfits had an undefeated record in their qualifier, taking out United States Ownage to make their record a perfect 6-0 in their respective qualifier rounds. Other teams have yet to be announced.

Misfits most recently took second place in the CyberPower PC Extreme Gaming Series - Spring 2017 tournament, bested by OpTic Gaming in a 1:2 final score. They also placed in the third-fourth range at DreamHack Tours 2017, losing 0:2 to HellRaisers. The team seems to be in need of a coach, thanks to Luis "Peacemaker" Tadeu's leave after being part of the Misfits staff for less than two months.

Binary Dragons has had some success ever since the organization signed iNation's roster this past March, with the team placing top four in the past four tournaments they've attended. They have yet to perform on as big of a stage as DreamHack Atlanta.

DreamHack Atlanta will take place July 21-23 at the Georgia World Congress Centre in (you guessed it) Atlanta, Georgia. Eight teams will be fighting for the lion's share of $100,000.
