Binary Dragons defeat Forcebuy to win Adria Masters

The first season of Adria Masters concluded with Balkan mixture Binary Dragons taking glory.

The Adria Masters Season 1 featured an online preliminary tournament which granted three LAN finals spots. Ex-Manatee, ex-DarkPassage, eXtatus and Outlaws were all competing but surprisingly Forcebuy, Binary Dragons and Nexus were the teams to qualify for the finals. However, Nexus failed to travel to Belgrade, Serbia, and as a result two teams rather than one qualified for the finals through a local Serbian LAN tournament: Squared and Fireplay.

The semi-finals matched up Squared and Binary Dragons against Forcebuy and Fireplay, respectively. Danish side Forcebuy, who qualified for the online portion from the open qualifiers in the first place, beat Squared and became the opponents of Binary Dragons who defeated Fireplay.

Forcebuy's fairytale ended inw the grand finals as Binary Dragons won the championship comfortably with 16-6 and 16-11 map scores and earned $3,000 in cash. While they may have come up short in the end, Forcebuy's run shows that Danish CS is strong at all levels, and should never be underestimated, while the $1,500 will be a welcome bonus for a team that wasn't expected to make much of an impact on this event.

The final team placements can be found below:

1. Serbia Binary Dragons- $3.000
2. Denmark Forcebuy- $1.500
3-4. Serbia Squared- $250
3-4. Serbia Fireplay- $250
