Gambit secure DreamHack Austin 2017 Champions title

In the early hours of this morning Gambit Esports were able to outclass none other than G2 Esports in the grand final of DreamHack Austin 2017. The series only saw two maps, as the CIS mix was able to take down their opponents on de_Train and de_Inferno in convincing fashion, both maps seeing a 16:12 score. The team secured $50,000 in prize money in addition to their second consecutive DreamHack Open title, as previously the roster was able to secure first place at DreamHack Winter 2016, surpassing the likes of Renegades in the grand final. 

Team EnVyUs sign academy team

The North American multi-gaming organisation has followed in the footsteps of quite a few prominent organisations by signing an academy team. The roster consists entirely of French players with two members hailing from Epsilon France, one from Vexed Gaming and the final two members are entering the team from relative obscurity. 

PENTA Sports and North Academy to European Minor Championship closed qualifier

The German and Danish rosters have secured placements at the closed qualifier for the LAN finals of the European Minor Championship, following great performances in the open qualifiers. Advancing from the round of 23, the Danes surpassed the likes of k1ck eSports Club, Team Dignitas amd GameplayDNA to secure their placement at the closed qualifier, while PENTA faced Team Singularity, Forcebuy and Tricked Esport to secure theirs.

Immortals invited to ESL One: Cologne 2017

The Brazilian roster received a direct invite to participate at the LAN finals of ESL One: Cologne 2017, a $250,000 prize pool event once again held at the Laxness Arena in Cologne, Germany. Immortals will join fifteen teams on July 7th-9th, butting heads with the finest CS:GO teams out there in a bid to secure the lion's share of the prize pool, as well as the Champions bragging rights.

ESL grant ex-Winterfox roster ESL Pro League spot

Following a flurry of controversy surrounding Winterfox, the CS:GO roster ended up stranded in Oceania due to their organisation unable to provide their players travel back to North America and as a consequence the team were performing at a ping disadvantage against their opponents during ESL Pro League Season 5 league play. After investigation on ESL's part, the tournament organiser has opted to strip the Winterfox organisation of its ESL Pro League spot instead granting it to the five individuals that are now performing under the Animal Squad tag.
