Beat Invitational announced their eighth season of the online tournament dedicated to the North and South American Scene.
Previously known as Dota 2 Canada Cup, the Beat Invitational tournament will kick off this May with the open qualifiers stage. Four teams can advance from the open qualifiers into to the group stage where they will join four directly invited squads in this leg of the competition. The open qualifiers will be held on May 13 -14 through the Faceit platform and all interested in competing can already register their team here.
Beat Invitational Season 8 format:
- Open qualifiers: 4 teams advance into the group stage
- Group stage: 4 teams from open qualifiers plus 4 invited teams will play in two groups, top two from each group advance into the playoffs.
- Playoffs: 4 teams from the group stage plus 4 directly invited will fight in a double elimination bracket.
Featuring a $10,000 prize pool, Beat Invitational Season 8 is yet to announce the exact dates for the playoffs, but according to the organizers, they aim to commence the group stage immediately after the open qualifiers, on the 15th of May, and finish all the group matches by the end of the month. With the imminent post Kiev Major shuffle incoming, the invites list is not yet confirmed, however the organizers made public the teams they have already approached:
