The group stage of Super League Season 2 has come to a close, and four Korean teams have been finalized for the playoffs. To no surprise MVP Black and TNL have come out on top of Group A and B respectively. In the lower brackets, Mighty and Tempest have also advanced to the playoffs.

Current HotS World Champs MVP Black took a commanding lead of Group A by not dropping a single game throughout the group stage. In the second round, they beat Mighty 3-0, who went on to win the lower bracket of the group. The stark skill difference between Korean teams is apparent throughout the region, but the playoffs should be interesting.

Group B played out very similar to Group A, where TNL blew through the competition without dropping a game. After a 0-3 defeat to TNL, Tempest went on to crush the lower bracket and only dropped one game in the final series to DsA. These brackets illustrate the massive skill gaps between Korean teams, who are regarded as some of the best in the world.

Through Super League, western teams get a glimpse into the Korean meta, which tends to differ from more western metas. For example, Tempest ran a triple warrior composition with Tyrael and Chen, heroes who haven't seen a ton of play in the west.

There is a prize pool of $170,000 on the line in the playoffs and every team will go home with some winnings. More importantly though, the top two teams in the playoffs will go on to represent Korea in the Summer Global Championship at DreamHack Summer on June 18-20.
