As tradition, the first three seeds get to pick their first group member, and then choosing the opponents for the winner of OnGameNet Star Challenge; Much.

JaeDong, reigning champion was first up to choose, and had a 12-player-pool to choose from. He shocked many when he chose sAviOr, even though Maestro's lacking results lately.
- I really enjoy the Zerg versus Zerg matchup, so I chose sAviOr, said JaeDong and says that this was one of his easy choices.

- JaeDong is the best Zerg at the moment and I've been needing some sort of spark to get me started again and I think that JaeDong is that [spark]. I've been watching and learning a lot from him, said the former league dominator.

sAviOr then decided to choose the young Terran player Sea who has done very well in the ProLeaue giving his team MBCHero many important points. However, Sea is still lacking results from the individual leagues, so many expect this to become his big individual breakthrough. And lastly, Sea chose the Protoss player BeSt.

Group B will feature Stork and TheRock, two rivals where Stork has the upper hand in records. Rumble and Flash are the remaining two in the group. JaeDong chose BackHo, Stork chose FrOzean and Bisu chose JulyZerg into Group D to become Much's opponents.

Group C originally had Bisu, Xellos, YellOw[ArnC] and Luxury, but due to the OnGamenNet StarChallenge winner's veto feature, Much vetoed JulyZerg from his group, replacing him with YellOw[ArnC].
- I went to talk to the 1-3 seeds and tried to get them to pick easy players for me, [...] I'm close with Stork and he has a weak heart so I trust him to put in an easy opponent, and I got Bisu to promise me as well, said Much before the group stage selection.

Will JaeDong defend his title or will he fall short because of the winner's curse? Whatever the future may hold, we are in exciting times.
