While Dota 2 has seen a significant growth of player population, this action was not really a total surprise. After a dominating performance by the Filipino teams at last month's SMM, it was very unlikely that the game played by the majority of the Filipinos will just be snubbed by the country's most recognized gaming organization.

Whether DotA will or will not be the flagship game of the event was not disclosed. While Dota 2 wasn't mentioned, it wasn't crossed out as well.
