ASUS Summer planned to be held in mid August: DotA prize money doubled

An unofficial blog entry by a leading event organizer at the Russian community website cyberfight.ru discloses, that the DotA tournament of ASUS Summer will get enlarged to the same comprehension as the prestigious Counter-Strike 1.6 tournament. Alongside, several unconfirmed information about prize money, date and qualification stage have been made public.

Good news for DotA: Due to huge interest shown by the community in the last ASUS event, the organizers decided to boost the prize money for the upcoming DotA tournament up to 250.000 RUB (converted 6.200 EUR), which is the same amount as the CS 1.6 tournament pays out.

ASUS DotA 5v5 Masters
The blog further informs, that DotA will be given 'Masters-status' at the upcoming ASUS Summer, which means that the game will get integrated in the qualification-stages of the event, including an online qualifier and an offline qualifer in Moscow, whose best two teams will get the trip to the Cybersport Arena in Kiev funded. Not much is known about the online tournament for now, only that it is planned for approximately 256 teams and may partly support its winner to the finals.

Earlier than usual
Due to the high amount of events at the venue in late August when WCG Russia is on the way, the ASUS Summer finals are scheduled to take place about two weeks before the month ends. Targeted date for the moment marks the 13th and 14th of August.
