Chinese Universities
The university undergrads are coming into the competition as underdogs. Virtually nothing is known about them and this could work to their advantage. With no track record to speak of, they retain the element of surprise and will keep other top-tier on their toes.

EHOME
Known as the epitome of Chinese DotA supremacy, EHome are definite favourites to bring home the gold. With an experienced drafter and captain 820 at the helm, it would prove difficult for foes to bring down the giants.

DTS
Regarded as the best European team currently, DTS has come a long way since their 2nd place finish in ESWC. After failing miserably against EHome in the Grand Final, everyone has noticed a stark improvement in play style.

While some observers have deemed their change in methods as a copycat attempt (from the Chinese), others believe it is a timely paradigm shift to regain ground on the now Asian-dominated scene.

Nothing less than a repeat performance is expected, so the pressure is mounting on them to deliver the goods. This might explain their decision to depart for China early: a few extra days to scrim against the Chinese before heading into battle.

AEON.MuFc
Once known as rag-tag band of unwanted players, the team has progressed into a fearsome and unpredictable foe. At one time, MuFc clearly led the pack before Nirvana.my bucked up and changed its roster.

Enigmatic leader WinteR, known for his unorthodox picks and stern leadership, will be facing his second major test after failing to impress in ESTC last month.
