CB: Groups!

The admins of ClanBase have given SG a sneak peak of the ClanBase group drawing, for the tournament that will start in a couple of weeks. The 24 teams are in place, and we're all waiting for the event to start!

The group drawing was based on seedings, where the admins of ClanBase made three groups - the best eight, the middle eight and the lower eight, and mixed them into four groups, each consisting of six teams, meaning that each nation will play five matches in the group play, which is all in all 20 1on1's and 5 2on2's in best of three format.

Germany favourites in Group A

After asking different plaers in participating national teams, almost everybody's opinion in Group A was that Germany

Germany would take the first spot, and that either Sweden

Sweden or

Norway will swipe the runner-up spot.

Poland and Spain pretty tied in the B group

In Group B we find Poland and Spain as the Top 2 seeds, favourites in the last season, with many interesting players. But according to Norway's WCG participant

Eriador, you'd better watch out for Bulgaria. "They could create an 'upset'", he says, commenting Group B.

USA back in ClanBase

After all the trouble concerning United States

USA in the previous season, they are now playing in Group C, under the control of United States

88)Control. "I trust in Control to take the best of his opportunity." Lord_Marine comments. This is certainly America's last hope, according to him. Apart from USA, strong nations such as Canada

Canada are also in this group - internal North America struggle. Despite this, the admins of ClanBase didn't create the groups with thought of the time zones.
"It won't be a factor this season as each game will be set for non european teams".

Runner-ups Finland in Group D

The surprising runner-up Finland

Finland ended up in Group D, seeded as Top 2. Will they come as far as they did in the last season, or will they not manage to advance to the playoffs, since only the Top 2 will do that? This question and many more only time will tell, and personally I'm on the top of my chair for excitement!
